£1,910 raised at annual charity Byte Night quiz

Top business brains battle it out at eir Business NI quiz
£1910 raised in aid of Action for Children

eir Business NI, one of Northern Ireland’s leading telecoms and technology companies, has raised almost £2,000 with support from customers and partners at its fifth annual charity Quiz Night in aid of Action for Children NI.

Taking place at the Errigle Inn, Belfast and hosted by quizmaster DJ Darryn McGarry, the quiz pitted leading business brains from some of NI’s best known companies – including Capita, Hastings Hotels and Chain Reaction Cycles – against each other. Using the latest e-quizzing app technology, challengers battled it out to be crowned Quiz Champion and took part in an auction and raffle for prizes including an overnight stay at the Europa Hotel and Ulster Rugby tickets.

The annual quiz forms part of eir Business NI’s fundraising campaign for Action for Children NI ahead of the charity’s technology-inspired ‘Byte Night’ sleep-out event which aims to help combat youth homelessness. 10 team members from eir will give up their beds for the night and join other members of NI’s local technology and business community at the Stormont Estate on Friday 6th October for the ‘sleep-out’. eir Business NI is also contributing £8,000 through its corporate responsibility investment programme, the eir Fund initiative, to help support the worthy cause.

Darren Lemon, eir Business NI General Manager and Byte Night Co-Chair commented:
“We are delighted to be part of Byte Night’s efforts for the fifth year running. Our annual quiz is a great opportunity for colleagues and friends across the local technology and business community to pit their wits against each other, all while raising money and awareness for Action for Children NI and the young people in our communities who need it most. I would like to thank all the businesses who donated the generous raffle and auction prizes as well as everyone who came along to lend their support for such a fantastic cause.”
