eir Business NI were delighted to judge the Young Enterprise Business Beginnings Primary Competition on 8th June 2016. The Business Beginnings programme encourages and supports young people in Primary 5 to Primary 7 to set up and run their own business.
The competition showcases the superb young talent in Northern Ireland and culminates in an event awarding a winning team and runner-up team. 2016 marks eir Business NI’s third year of support for this initiative, providing a team of judges to review entries and select the winners. The judges’ task was to select six area finalists from the competition entries across Northern Ireland, and chose the overall winner.
The final event took place at W5 Belfast, the science and discovery centre. Our team of judges from across the business were extremely impressed with the high standard of presentations on the day, making their task even more difficult. However, they thoroughly enjoyed their involvement in the event with these inspirational children. The worthy winners were Moneyrea Primary School. The Primary 7 children designed and marketed Keyching, a novel identity tag for attaching to school bags.
